Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most common questions about Tresor — from privacy and security to features, pricing, and troubleshooting.

Privacy & Security

Can Tresor read my messages?

No. Your messages are encrypted in your browser before they leave your device and are processed inside sealed hardware enclaves that nobody can inspect — not Tresor's team, not the cloud provider. Tresor's database stores only encrypted data. → How Tresor protects your privacy

Is my data used to train AI models?

Never. Your conversations are not used for training AI models, improving services, or any other purpose beyond responding to you in the current session. This is enforced by the zero-access architecture, not just a policy.

What does "zero-access" mean?

Zero-access means Tresor is designed so that it cannot access your data, even if it wanted to. Your messages are encrypted end-to-end and processed inside sealed enclaves. It's a technical guarantee, not a promise. → What Tresor can and cannot see

Is Tresor GDPR compliant?

Tresor is EU-native and designed with European data protection principles. The zero-access architecture goes beyond typical GDPR compliance — if Tresor can't access your data, the privacy risk is fundamentally lower. For specific compliance requirements, contact sales.

How do I verify that my conversation is private?

Every AI response has a small shield icon underneath it. Click it to see a cryptographic verification receipt that proves the message was processed inside a verified, sealed enclave. → Verifying your conversation's privacy

What happens if Tresor is hacked?

An attacker accessing Tresor's database would find only encrypted data — unreadable without your personal encryption keys, which are derived from your password and never stored by Tresor. Your account credentials (email/password) are hashed, and 2FA adds another layer. This is a fundamental advantage of zero-access architecture. → How Tresor protects your privacy

Getting Started

How do I sign up?

Go to chat.trytresor.com/auth/signup, enter your name, email, and password, and verify your email with a 6-digit code. → Creating your account

Is there a free plan?

Yes! The Free plan includes 20 messages per day, access to all AI models, and full zero-access privacy. No credit card required. → Billing and plans

What AI models are available?

Tresor offers several models including Kimi K2.5 (recommended), GPT-OSS 120B, DeepSeek v3.2, Llama 3.3 70B, Mistral 24B, and GLM 5. All run inside secure enclaves. → Choosing an AI model

What browsers are supported?

Tresor works in all modern browsers — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. We recommend keeping your browser up to date for the best experience and security.

Features

Can I upload files?

Yes. You can attach documents and images to individual conversations. You can also upload files to projects, where the AI can reference them across all conversations in that project. → Documents and images

Can the AI analyze images?

Yes. All models can analyze images, charts, diagrams, and screenshots. Tresor routes image analysis through a dedicated vision model automatically. → Documents and images

Can the AI search the web?

Yes. Enable Web search in the prompt box. You approve each search before it's sent. → Web search

What are projects?

Projects are folders for related work. You can group conversations, upload documents, and set custom instructions. The AI in a project automatically respects your instructions and references your uploaded files. → Projects

Can I collaborate with my team?

Yes, on Team and Enterprise plans. Create a workspace, invite members, and share projects. Everything stays encrypted — Tresor can't see any of it. → Workspaces and team collaboration

What is Thinking mode?

All models support Thinking mode, where the AI reasons step by step before answering. This takes longer but produces more thorough responses for complex problems. → Choosing an AI model

Account & Billing

How much does Tresor cost?

  • Free: €0, 20 messages/day

  • Pro: €25/month, unlimited messages and projects

  • Team: €39/seat/month, collaboration and audit trail

  • Enterprise: Custom pricing

→ Billing and plans

How do I upgrade my plan?

Go to Settings → Billing and select a new plan. You'll be guided through the Stripe checkout process. → Billing and plans

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, anytime from Settings → Billing. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period, then downgrades to Free. Your data is preserved. → Billing and plans

How do I avoid getting locked out of MFA?

Tresor does not use recovery codes. Instead, register multiple authenticators (for example, your phone plus a password manager TOTP app) in Settings → Security. That way you can still sign in if one device is lost. → Two-factor authentication

Should I enable two-factor authentication?

Strongly recommended. 2FA protects your account even if someone learns your password. Set it up in Settings → Security. → Two-factor authentication

Troubleshooting basics

I can't log in

  • Double-check your email and password.

  • If you have 2FA enabled, make sure you're entering the correct 6-digit code from your authenticator app.

  • Try resetting your password if needed. If you've lost your primary authenticator, use another registered MFA device or contact support.

Messages aren't sending

  • Check your internet connection.

  • If you're on the Free plan, you may have hit your daily message limit. Check back after the reset time shown in the notification.

  • Try refreshing the page.
